The newly refurbished judge's library is a cosy cottage with a modern feel; ideally situated to enjoy historic Carmarthen (Wales oldest town), and we are just inside the old town wall; with thick stone walls and bedrooms at the rear the cottage can be a quiet retreat, yet its only a few hundred yards from cafe culture and shops, and close to the cinema and theatre. Carmarthen is the gateway town to rural and coastal West Wales, and well served by buses and trains that run to the main seaside resorts and other main attractions. there are plenty of places to go on day trips.

For the adventurous the Wales coastal path  is across the road at the bottom of the street, running alongside the River Towy. Being inside the historic district there is no private parking, but plenty of public parking close by in the Castle and at the train and bus stations. For an Eco holiday why not ditch the car, arrive by train and make the most of this accessible location.

There is enough to satisfy all the senses here, and we hope you will also enjoy the original artwork and handcrafted features, and there is excellent internet and 4K Smart TV.

Perfect if you want to be right in the middle of town

Over the years of renting accommodation this has been the best placed, if you needed to nip back to the cottage for something it was literally a stones throw from anywhere in town. Everything was included in the accommodation that you needed, ie Netflix, coffee, tea, milk, cutlery etc, even a few extras ;) Hosts were contactable & were really good at recommendations for us who were new to the area, plus they were really nice & friendly. Bedroom was perfectly placed within the accommodation at the back & it was lovely & quiet plus very comfortable. I didn't like leaving ;) In all seriousness there isn't anything to dislike , perfect location, really interesting town, really comfortable accommodation ... There was only one issue prior to arrival of parking but this was easily solved by parking at the train station which was only a few minutes walk away & you can pay for as many days as you like in one go.

Cosy comfy cottage

Nice quiet cottage, which was clean and cosy. lovely and cool despite the hot day. I liked the boutique shops, sitting outside at Lorenzos Bar, and having lunch at Pethau Da after check out. The Bus station was just around the corner, but It was a shame the Bus service was not good on a Sunday, so I didn't go to the beach, but enjoyed a walk along the river.

We had a wonderful stay at The Judges library and we can't wait to there stay again.

The judges library was the perfect little stay in heart of Carmarthen, the property was clean and inviting with great facilities. The bedroom was spacious and light and the bed was very cosy and comfortable. We loved the decoration of the property, particularly the kitchen breakfast bar and the bathroom was gorgeous! It had wonderful little quirky furniture which we loved! We would highly recommend it!!!

A fab stay in a stylish cottage in the middle of Carmarthen a short walk from the train station

Loved the location, it was smack bang in the middle of town. There was no problems at all, everything was great during our stay

Small plush cottage located in Carmarthen town centre

Small plush cottage located in Carmarthen town centre and approximately 8 min walk from the train station. The cottage is clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities such as crockery, cooking utensils and most importantly - a cafetiere! Bed was amazingly cosy and never slept so well especially given I have trouble sleeping in my own bed! Lindsay & Jackie were very accommodating and even offered us an earlier check-in which was a great help as it meant we didn't need to lug our bags around the town centre (thank you!). Prior to the trip, they offered us suggestions on where to visit in Carmarthen but sadly due to time constraints we were unable to do this but this has given us the incentive to explore more of West Wales in future and would have no qualms booking with Lindsay and Jackie again.

Wonderful stay

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Judges Library for work purposes. It was an on / off stint of six weeks in total, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. This home as all the cosy / hygge vibes of any countryside cottage, but located in an ideal place in a quiet street just off the town centre. It had everything I needed, and all facilities worked perfectly. The house was spotless and Jackie & Lindsay’s communication was great throughout my stay, making sure I had everything I needed. Would definitely reccomend & return - for business purposes or to just enjoy! Diolch o galon

Great place to stay, right in the centre of Carmarthen

This is a great place to stay, right in the centre of Carmarthen with plenty of shops and cafes a few steps away and transport (bus/train) to get to some amazing beaches and castles nearby. The cottage is lovely and has absolutely everything you may need. We were very lucky with the weather, but had it rained, we would have happily hung out inside watching Netflix & drinking cups of tea.

Lovely, cosy place to stay in Carmarthen

Lovely, cosy place to stay in Carmarthen. Complete with smart TV, 3 bedrooms and an incredible bathroom - a very central base for exploring Gower, West Wales, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. Be sure to ask ahead about places to park as there is seldom parking available on the same street, but plenty of places a short distance away. Very near Carmarthen train station on the main line too.
